Subject: [leadership] ACB Presents at CSUN

ACB is pleased to present along with our colleagues from WGBH Boston, American Foundation for the Blind, and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) a one hour seminar on the state of consumer electronics in the U.S. and Europe.

Below is the description for our presentation on accessible user interfaces for consumer electronics at the annual "Technology and People with Disabilities" conference, this year to be held in San Diego, California from March 22-27 (see www.csunconference.org).

This session will be held on Friday, March 26 at 3:10pm in the Emma AB conference room.

The basics:

Accessible User Interfaces for Consumer Electronics Equipment: Progress and Plans

An international report on efforts to make consumer electronics' user interfaces and electronic program guides (HDTV, DVD, set-top boxes) accessible to individuals with vision loss.

During this presentation I will have an ample opportunity to discuss the various provisions in H.R.3101, The Twenty-First Century communications and Video Accessibility Act and the critical need for the bill's enactment. For those participating in this conference, I encourage you to attend the presentation to get a handle on what innovations the RNIB is developing and how their ideas could be brought to market in the U.S. .
