John,
I'm not sure how we would go about pursueing this, but I
think it is something we should consider. Any suggestions on how to get
started?

Subject: [Missouri-l] Accessible forms?
Now that ACB has gotten the Social Security Administration to make
correspondence with blind people available to us in accessible formats,
wouldn't it be nice if we could somehow get the state of Missouri to do the
same thing? Have we tried advocating for that in the past? Why can't we get
letters about blind pension eligibility in a form that we can read for
ourselves. I realize that we have to fill out the print forms for the social
workers but it would be helpful if we could have the forms and
accompanying letters in an accessible format to refer to when people are
helping us fill out those forms. It would also be nice if they allowed more
room on the form to write in, especially for people with low vision. Donna
finds it very difficult to read the forms and fill them out even though she
has some vision. If we can't get forms in Braille, could we at least get
them in larger print with enough room to provide the information? John
ASAP!
