Below are highlights of the week's activities:
1. We held the first official staff meeting of 2010. Topics included
review of personnel policies, maintenance of membership records and
renewals, and completion of I-9 forms by staff. These forms are required by
the US Department of Homeland Security and are to be maintained in
employees' personnel files.
2. A thank you card was received in the office from J.R. and Darlene
Hampton stating: "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the financial
help that you provided for us."
3. We currently have 13 people registered for the MCB Legislative
Conference to be held in February in Jefferson City.
4. 12 Schnucks eScrip program cards have been sent to members. These
cards, when used, provide for a donation to MCB, at no cost to the card
holder. If you would like a card, please contact Lowell at the MCB office.
5. Debbie Naucke, Executive Director of Delta Gamma, will be visiting the
MCB office next week to discuss possible collaboration on programs and
support between MCB and Delta Gamma.
6. The registration process for consideration and activation as a
designated donor candidate for the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation
has been started.
7. Lowell will be meeting with John Baker of Learfield Communications
regarding potential promotional activitiy for MCB over the 350-plus radio
station network.

Campaign which is the workplace giving campaign for postal and federal
employees throughout Eastern missouri and Central Western Illinois. Lowell

program for accruiing points for purchases on ebay.
11. MCB has been set up with GoodSearch.com. By conducting Internet
searches using the GoodSearch.com search engine (powered by yahoo), MCB will
receive approximately 1 cent per search. Money can also be earned by
shopping through GoodShop.com which provides links to shop at hundreds of
online merchants including, ebay, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Target,
PetSmart, Overstock.com, Sears, Avon, Macy's, Office Depot, Old Navy,
Walmart, Walgreens, and many, many, many others. Simply select Missouri
Council of the Blind as your designated charity and link to the online
merchants through GoodShop.com. A percentage of the sale comes back to MCB
as a donation and does not add any cost to the shopper.
12. Payroll processed and paid.
13. Information on credit card processing fees has been gathered for
presentation at the next Strategic Planning Committee meeting.
