Dear Phyllis and Others,
I took the liberty of contacting the Americans with Disabilities Project
that serves California because the center here in Missouri is closed. I was
told manufactures of appliances do not have an obligation to put Braille
labels on any of their products when used by a private individual. It would
be a nice service if they did, That said.....
If a washer and dryer were located in a public area such as a laundromat,
then they would be required to be marked in Braille.
Not knowing your situation, I would suggest asking someone who is sighted
and guide you where to place Braille marks for your washer and dryer, even
though Whirlpool did not.
Scott
