[Missouri-l] Patricia Beattie - 5/14/1936 to 2/2/2010

I was so sad to read this.

Pat and I attended the Josephine Taylor Institute last year, and it was the first time (though I've served on committees with Pat, and have known her for years) I really spent quality time with her.  I'm glad I got to know her better.

  Dear Loved Ones and Friends of Patricia Dawn Mason Beattie - It is my sad 

  duty to inform you that our common loved one passed away this morning at 

  2:15 AM at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.  She passed peacefully with Kirsten 

  and me beside her.  At this time, we are in the process of planning her 

  funeral/memorial arrangements.  We will be certain to notify you when that 

  is done.

   

  We remain eternally appreciative for the many expressions of love to our 

  family during this difficult time as we all remember this giant of a woman 

  who accomplished so much for so many other people during her 73 years on 

  this Earth.  She also leaves behind the wonderful woman who became my wife, 

  two grandchildren (Isaac and Phyllis), four sisters, a host of other 

  relatives, and many friends and colleagues who have worked with her to make 

  this world a better place - particularly for those with low vision or who 

  are blind.

   

  We continue to cherish and solicit your prayers during these days to come.
