I was moved to the very core this past summer while listening to L. J.
Ganser's presentation at the Acb convention. He is a man who loves words
and books, and who, in his narration, brings stories and lives of the famous
to life as few have the gift or talent to do.
Since that time, I have wanted him as a guest for Books And Beyond.
Tonight, you and I will have the unique pleasure of listening to L. J.
Ganser answer questions about the job of narrating and will learn about the
man himself. L. J. has promised to read something of his own choosing for a
few minutes just for us.
With that as an enticement, I invite you to share the experience tonight at
8 p.M. eastern time by calling 218-844-3388 and then putting in the pin code
26657 and pressing the pound key. Please come a few minutes before 8 if you
can. We love to have a few moments to talk with each other before
beginning the show.
Narrators are a big part of our lives. They give us knowledge, pleasure,
the excitement and the joy of reading. When we read, we feel them with us.
Not just readers, they are friends, filling up many hours as we go through
our days. Whether we are riding to work, finding it hard to sleep in the
middle of the night or eating a solitary meal alone, they read books that
reveal pleasures or secrets as yet untold. They make us rich in the legacy
they give us. Come listen tonight, and thank one of the very best.
