[Missouri-l] October Member Of the Month

Congratulations to Trudy Blood, Blind of Central Missouri for being chosen
for the October Member of the Month Award nominated by Terry Thompson.

I would like to nominate our long time member, Trudy Blood for the Member of
the Month Award.    She joined our affiliate in 1983, when she moved to
Sedalia. In October 1985 Trudy was elected Recording Secretary and has
served in that office ever since.  She is an active member that goes above
and beyond the line of duty for her club.  She also served 2 years as the
state recording secretary and is the secretary for her Alumni, the Kansas
State School for the Blind.

In 1986 and again in 2006 Trudy was on the planning committee when we hosted
the MCB state convention.  She served as chairperson in 1986.  Trudy writes
an article for the Missouri Chronicle each quarter to keep everyone informed
on what is happening in central Missouri.  Trudy is a loyal member and has
not missed very many meetings in the past years.  She is on our calling
committee so each month she calls all the out of town members to remind them
of the time for the meeting.

Trudy received Alumni of the Year award for the Kansas State School for the
Blind.  This was a great honor for her as she has been very active in her
Alumni serving when ever needed. 

We hope your committee will recognize all of Trudy's hard work and efforts
to make The Blind of Central Missouri an outstanding organization.  Thank
you for honoring a member of MCB each month for the work they do.  MCB could
use more volunteers like Trudy that give of their time.

The purpose of Missouri Council of the Blind shall be to promote the general
well-being of our members and legally blind people in Missouri, and to
support or participate in other programs promoting the best interests of
legally blind people everywhere.
