difficulties with this?
Tonight our guest is our very own John Weidlich, former program director of 
Mind's Eye and former news reporter for KPLR channel 11 here in St. Louis.
What is happening with radio reading services these days? With the 
availability of more modern technology, do such services even have a place 
in our world today?

Now see below for a little more biographical information about John.
I have been totally blind since birth. i graduated from the Missouri School 
for the Blind and I attended St Louis University for graduate and 
undergraduate work with a major in English. I did some practice teaching but 
i never thought teaching was what I wanted. I worked in the news department 
of KPLR, TV Channel 11 for a couple of years in various capacities, 
including news reporting and reading the news on air. I went to work for 
Radio Information Service, Now Minds Eye Information Service in March 1976 
and stayed there until I retired last month. I handled programming, ran the 
equipment, supervised the volunteer readers and hosted the call-in show. i 
could talk a lot about how the radio reading field has changed over the 
years. I love to read and I love music. I played piano in a trio during 
college and now play with our worship ensemble at our Church. I have also 
been involved with UWB and MCB and edited the Missouri Chronicle for several 
years, which I really enjoyed doing. If Bonnie needs any more information,
