[Missouri-l] state donations for the blind?

The program providing a "comprehensive eye examination before beginning
school" to Missouri school children was legislation written by the Missouri
Optometric Association. As an aside, this is something that many other state
optometric associations will be taking to their individual state
legislatures. I know the Arizona Optometric Association is currently working
to get the same type of legislation passed.  I wasn't aware the fund was
named the Blindness Awareness Fund.  Interesting. If you like, I can find
out more information as I am friends with the individual who was the
Executive Director of the Missouri Optometric Association when that
legislation was passed.

                I don't know who manages the fund, but here is what I found

Many times, it is impossible for anyone to know if a child has an 

eye that is lazy without a comprehensive eye examination. This 

year, when you go to renew your driver's license, make sure you 

take the time to check the BLINDNESS AWARENESS FUND 

box on your renewal form. Your donation may help make it 

possible for every child in Missouri to have a comprehensive 

eye examination before they begin school.

    I just received the renewal application for my car liscense.  On the
form, a line stated would I like to donate to the blind.  Does anyone know
anything about this?  If someone donates, where does the money go?
