This isn't official GDUI advice, just something that came to my
mind as I
filled out my own convention registration form.

For those completing the ACB convention registration form, please
don't
forget, and tell others not to forget, to mark the choice
regarding whether
you plan to use a guide dog. I know this is an easy one to skip
and you may
be wondering why ACB needs to know that you have a guide dog with
you. ACB
uses these numbers, the only reliable ones they have, to
calculate the need
for relief areas and other guide dog related needs during
convention.

There have been conventions in the past, when the forms were not
available
on line or were not as incredibly easy to complete as now, when
we had up to
twice as many guide dogs or more than were registered. This is
not
necessarily a problem unless you want to use those figures to
plan ahead.
<grin

Also, I'd encourage everyone to check the box for a donation to
the guide
dog relief area. ACB contracts this service each year and though
$15 may
seem like a small amount, every little bit helps. You can also
contribute
more if you like to the effort.

Final note on contributions to the relief areas. Just because
you donate to
this fund does not mean you are immune from cleaning up after
your dog in
said relief areas, or anywhere else for that matter. Believe it
or not,
every year, people are under this impression and are stunned when
they are
told to clean up while in the relief area.

Of course, if you have physical difficulty cleaning up, let
people know and
help will be made available.

Please feel free to share this note with whomever you think may
benefit.
