[Missouri-l] Invitation To Russell Ewell's Graduation

Good day All, 

This is Russell Ewell, I know that it has been a long time since many of you
have heard from me but as you may remember, I had to resign from every board
and committee to pursue my academic endeavors. I wanted to announce and
invite anyone who will be in the St. Louis Metropolitan area next Friday to
my graduation service.  I WILL BE THE FIRST BLIND PERSON to graduate from
Eden Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree in its 156-year
history.  The ceremony will begin at 7:30pm on Friday May 15, 2009. Because
of its accessibility, the ceremony will be held at Manchester United
Methodist Church, 129 Woods Mill Road, Manchester, Missouri.  

 

Please invite others from our community because I believe we need to make a
statement.  I was told by many people from our community, from academia,
from social service organizations that a blind person "especially one that
does not read brail" has never, nor could complete this program because of
its academic requirements. Therefore, to make a statement I would love to
have as many people as possible with your white canes and guide dogs.  The
graduation does not require tickets so it is open to the public.
