AUDIO DESCRIPTION

At the beginning of this year the American Council of the Blind
entered
into a contract with Joel Snyder which is aimed at getting us
right to
the center of where things are and are not in the field of audio
description. We are doing all that we can to promote an
understanding of
audio description. We are launching training programs. We are
entering
into joint ventures with DVD producers to make available a movie
with
audio description. In truth, there is far more going on than I
have
time to write about here. If you care about audio description,
join us
for our program that will give us a chance to get up to speed
about
where we are. All the news is not good! Somehow we must keep
audio
description at the forefront of people's attention. Are there
fewer
described movies available now than there were last year? What
can we
do to make things better? How does our new project help? These
are
just some of the questions we will explore tomorrow on Tuesday
Topics at
a little before nine PM Eastern Time in the Politics Room on May
5,
2009. Now here are some additional instructions on how to find
us and
what to do once you do.

Using a web browser, go to
http://www.conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs510b693fb1
1f to
enter the Politics Room.

There you must either download a small application if this is
your first
time there, or go on to enter the room. The next screen has a
spot for
you to input your real name and a password. Ignore the password.
Just
enter your name and press enter.

The new room looks a lot different from the old one. Please take
some
time and explore particularly the help menu and its accessibility
submenu.

If you cannot join us tonight, please listen starting next Monday
at
8:00 p.m. eastern to hear this program on the mainstream channel
of
ACBRADIO.
