Mildred Taylor, Member Of the Month for May. 

Nominated by the Springfield Service Club of the Blind

We would like to nominate Mildred Taylor as the MCB Member of the Month.
Mildred and her husband moved from St.Louis to Crane, Missouri around the
late sixties.  Mildred and her husband are both totally blind.  Crane is a
small town about 40 miles from Springfield.  Mildred's husband died several
years later.  Mildred has been a member of the Springfield Service Club of
the Blind since 1969.  Her sister-in-law, Edna Mayne brings Mildred to our
monthly meetings.  They very rarely miss a meeting.  Mildred has served our
club in several capacities, such as secretary, membership chair and
hospitality chair.  She often provides entertainment for our club by reading
stories in  Braille.  She continues to be active in her church, exchanging
cassette letters to friends throughout the country  and in local events in
Crane, even though she is in her late eighties.
