Subject: Update & ANOTHER DIGITAL SAMPLER

Dear Wolfner Library Patron,

Wolfner Library ended the prelaunch test of National Library Service (NLS) digital system. It was a success and I want to thank all 883 Missourian for helping to vigorously test the NLS digital machines. Wolfner staff received 500 NLS digital players in early May and distributed them to Missourians in three days. Wolfner circulation staff then matched the machine department by adding 37 copies of the 54 Sampler digital books in record time, so Missourians were some of the first readers in the nation to experience listening to NLS digital books on digital players. Missouri benefited by receiving 350 additional digital players when a prelaunch library was unable to fulfill its obligation in the program-unfortunate for them, but good for Missouri! As of this date, 850+ Missourians that participated in the prelaunch program have a digital machine to keep for the rollout of the digital program.

In addition, Wolfner Library is expecting 728 additional digital players to arrive in Jefferson City in the next few weeks. If you have not already ask for a new digital player, please call your reader advisor ASAP!

Regular shipments of books in digital format are expected to begin soon and the initial distribution nationwide of NLS digital talking book players will start in August. What an exciting time to be a reader in the NLS program!

Until regular NLS shipment of books start, here is a sampling of titles that are now available from Wolfner Library on digital cartridges.
