Minds Eye, a radio station for people with vision loss, located 
at
the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in the Saint Louis
region, has a full-time
professional opening for a Development Director.

Essential duties include:

1.  Identifying, cultivating and soliciting philanthropic support 
by
developing and maintaining relationships with individuals.
2.  Makes a minimum of 4 visits per month to current and 
prospective
donors for the Airwave or Legacy Society and lines up 1 visit per
month between Executive
Director and major donor.
3.  Builds annual campaign strategies and writes and develops
appropriate solicitation, thank you letters, scripts and other 
materials.
4.  Identifies donors and prospects for each segment of the 
campaign
and ask amounts for each.
5.  Responsible for launching Minds Eye Adopt a Program project.
6.  Successfully solicits at least 5 new companies per year to
participate at the $500+ per year underwriting or event 
sponsorship.
7.  Writes multiple grants annually to secure funding for special
projects and operating support.

Bachelor's degree in related field required.  Membership in
professional groups such as AFP or SLPGA considered a plus.  CFRE
designation highly desirable.
