About Marlaina:
Marlaina Lieberg, ACB's current Secretary and ACB Radio show host, has been
involved in ACB since the early 1970's. she has been active in the
Massachusetts, Virginia and Washington State affiliates.
currently, she lives in Seattle with her husband Gary and guide dog Agnes,
and she serves the Washington Council of the Blind as Second Vice President
and Membership Committee chair.
In 2008, Marlaina represented ACB at the Women's Forum of the World Blind
Union in Geneva, Switzerland. As a result, she has become active and
interested in forming a vehicle through which the concerns of blind women in
and outside ACB can be heard and addressed.
she has chaired ACB's Information Access Committee for the past 4 years, and
now serves as a Committee member. She believes that a good leader encourages
other good folks to replace her. She also serves as the Officer Liaison to
the ACB Women's Concerns Committee and this year will have another committee
added to her list of committees on which she will serve as an Officer
Liaison.
she loves working with ACB Radio, cooking, reading and interacting with
others.
Marlaina believes strongly that the duties of an ACB officer go far beyond
the so-called prescribed duties and as such, is always eager to have an
opportunity to meet and talk with, listen to and respond to ACB members and
friends.
