A seminar for parents, classroom teachers, teachers of the visually
impaired, students and others interested in the education of children who
are blind or visually impaired. The purpose of this seminar is to provide
information to those in daily contact with blind or visually impaired
children, identify available resources and equipment to serve them and help
parents and teachers understand that their children can live independently
and achieve academic and vocational success. The seminar will provide both
basic concepts and information for those experiencing vision loss and for
those parents, classroom teachers and professionals who are directly
involved in the education of students who are blind/visually impaired. In
addition, more advanced information will be provided for individuals who are
already familiar with this field.
THIS SEMINAR IS FREE!
No fee will be charged for the seminar and hotel rooms will be provided free
of charge on a first-come, first-served basis up to our maximum number of
rooms (night of Oct. 5th). State rules do require that participants live
more than fifty miles from the site of the event for a participant to be
eligible for lodging. Please consider sharing a room with other
participants whenever possible to allow us to accommodate more individuals.
There will be a paid lunch, dinner and continental breakfast as part of the
seminar, so please give us an accurate count of those who will be attending
and participating in meals. Please fill out the registration form at the
bottom of this flyer and return as early as possible to allow us to predict
the number attending. We must receive your room reservation request no
later than September 1st (room availability is limited). We will notify you
of your confirmation following the September 1st deadline for registration.
