How do we prepare for life's end? It is a question we will all face someday
for ourselves and those we love. Many hospices exist today to help
families through a most painful process. At a time of intense emotion and
great sadness, how does one sift through possible options and choose the one
that will best suit his or her needs at such a critical time? Are hospice
services all the same? What red flags should one look for in making this
choice? Do they provide care or emotional support for family too? How long
can they be involved? Does involvement with Hospice mean death is emminent?
What are the myths of hospice?
Tonight Kasey Rippel will answer these and many other questions. She will
share stories of memorable patients who have helped make her job in
provider relations for Hospice of Tuscarwas, Stark, and Carroll Counties
here in Ohio such a rewarding experience.
Raised in Eastern Tennessee, Kasey has worked in Hospice for the past five
years. In her job in provider relations, she works in marketing, public
relations and financial development for existing and future programs, in her
agency. Kasey has an associate degree in chemical technology and a bachelor
degree in Health Science and Chemistry.
Join us for a discussion of a painful part of life that can be eased by
those who work in a field that has come to mean much to many families in
recent years.
The show will begin airing tomorrow morning at 1 hour UTC or tonight at 9pm
eastern time over www.ACBRadio.org on the mainstream channel. This topic was
so important that we felt it necessary to do a second show, and you will
hear that next week. As we always say, you never know whom you'll meet or
what you'll learn on Books And Beyond.
