[Missouri-l] Member Of the Month For March

Congratulations to Irene Stoll, member of the Ozark Association of the
Blind. Irene is the winner of March's Member of the Month Award. Her letter
of recognition is below.

 

Thanks to all the members for their wonderful letters of nomination. All are
deserving of an award. The nominees will be considered for April's Member of
the Month award. Send in your letter of recognition for that someone
special. We are accepting nominations for April, postmarked before or on
April 30th.

Irene Stoll Letter of recognition.

I am recommending the name of Irene Stoll for the Member of the Month Award.
In her own quiet, unassuming way, Irene over extended herself in her service
to the blind.

 

Irene has been a sighted member of the Ozark Association of the Blind (OAB)
for almost 45 years. In fact, she joined five years before her daughter. She
has worked in many capacities. As a fund-raiser she organized bingos, bake
sales, and yard sales.She works relentlessly on obtaining new members. It is
because of Irene that I am a member of MCB. Irene lives in Ste Genevieve and
drove to Festus to pick me up so I could join and attend the monthly
meetings held in Ste. Genevieve. Then she drove me back home, a total of 88
miles. As the head of the entertainment committee, we could always count on
a great program and good food. She never has to look for what to do, she
always seems to find it. Irene is a caring and dependable person.

 

I feel Irene is most deserving of this award. With your help I am happy to
say thank you to Irene for all she has done for the organization and is
still doing in her early 90's.
